Due to COVID we haven’t had an official charity for the last few years – although we have continued to support local community organisations during these difficult times.
This year however we have decided to return to our more ‘offical’ Charity of the Year format. Each year we choose a charity (mainly local to us – but occasionally can have national services) to support in a number of ways.
This year we have selected the Keynsham and District Mencap Society to name as our official charity of 2022.

Keynsham and District Mencap Society provides social opportunities for 150 people from the Bristol and Bath area with learning disabilities and complex needs including autism, the charity’s work is essential in reducing isolation, facilitating friendships, building confidence and increasing self-esteem within it’s community.
Keynsham Mencap delivers 10 weekly projects; social clubs for adults and children, music lessons and sports clubs, in addition to the regular projects the charity organises group holidays, community outings and outdoor pursuit activities. In essence offering people with learning disabilities and autism the same opportunities as their ‘peers’ in a safe and supported environment, whilst at the same time providing much needed respite to parents and carers.
We’ll be helping Keynsham and District Mencap Society throughout the year and we’ll share some of this on our blog.
