Website Useage

1: Vehicle information
Whilst every effort has been made to ensure the accuracy of the specifications and information provided about our wheelchair accessible vehicles for sale on this site, some errors may occur. It is important that you do not rely solely on this information but check with WavsGB about any terms/specifications you feel will affect your decision to purchase a vehicle. No liability is acceptable for loss or damage resulting from errors or omissions on this web site.

2: Seating
When we talk about seating on the site we may refer to number of ‘passengers’ or ‘seats’ these numbers will include the vehicle driver.

When we mention ‘wheelchair passenger’ we assume the wheelchair passenger will remain seated in the wheelchair and not use one of the vehicles passenger seats.

3: Mileage
When the vehicle is first added to the website the mileage is recorded and added to the vehicle details on the website. Depending on certain circumstances the actual mileage at purchase can vary from the listed mileage. While we do try to keep mileages accurate – occasionally a vehicle mileage can be different for a number of reasons. Why does the mileage vary? During the time the vehicle is on our forecourt it can be moved around, re-fuelled, taken to our work shop for services & checks, customer test drives and home demonstrations.

4: Images
Images on the vehicle sales page are taken of the actual vehicle. While we make every effort to reproduce accurate colours on the website – this can be affected by the weather, the camera used and the end users own device. We reserve the right to remove/add or update the photos from a vehicle listing.

5: Availability
We try to ensure that vehicles on our website have their availability shown clearly and that any vehicle marked as available are in stock. However occasionally the website may not update or a vehicle may be withdrawn from sale temporarily without this showing on the website. Additionally vehicles can be taken away for test drives and home demonstrations and not be available for a period of time. Therefore please contact us before making a special journey to see a specific vehicle

6: Third party websites
In addition to listing our vehicles on wavsgb.com – we also use a number of third-party websites and services to list our vehicles. While we endeavour to make sure this external content is correct and up to date – we are not responsible for these services.

Service terms

1: Buying back vehicles We are always interested in buying back vehicles we have previously sold but we offer no guarantee that we will make an offer. When you have finished with your WAV, please do get in touch with details and we will make you an offer but please bear in mind are unable to take vehicles which are over 10 years old, have approx 100,000 mileage and have excessive wear and tear, except in exceptional circumstances. You are not obliged to accept any offer to buy back and we are not obliged to make an offer on previously sold WAVs. Factors including market conditions, service availability and current stock levels can affect our offer. 2: Home Demonstrations We can offer a home demonstration service for any of our sales vehicles. We generally offer our home demonstration service within 200 miles of our office in Bath. Demonstrations are provided at our discretion. For each demonstration we charge a non-refundable fee. The fee covers a full vehicle service, MOT and delivery costs (fuel and staff). If you decide to buy the vehicle – then the fee is used as a deposit towards the cost of the vehicle. The fee is variable depending on distance but starts at £250, and will be confirmed with you when booking. In cases where we can not offer a home demonstraion we can offer an alternative demonstration via pre-recorded video or live video-chat (e.g Whats App / Facetime) 3: Deposits on sales vehicles If you are planning to buy a vehicle and you want to reserve it, or if you require the vehicle to be delivered – a deposit is always payable. Once the deposit is paid it allows us to instruct an independent garage to MOT and service the vehicle prior to delivery. The deposit is no longer refundable once the service, MOT (or other work) has been initiated on the vehicle. If you change your mind, or if there is nothing wrong with the car being purchased, this is not a sufficient reason to have your deposit returned. You do not have an automatic right to have your deposit back if you cancel your purchase. This is because the vehicle is withdrawn from sale thereby preventing anyone else from buying it. More information on the Motor Ombudsman website Deposits start at £250 and can increase depending on the vehicle and if any modifications are requested in which case the deposit is increased to cover the cost of any parts and labour. The deposit can be paid by debit card or bank transfer. We cannot accept credit card payments for vehicle sales. For full sales terms and conditions and our return policy please see our Sales Terms

General Hire Terms

Full hire terms are provided to you when a hire vehicle is collected or delivered. The terms below relate to the information provided on the website and do not supersede the signed terms provided upon a hiring a vehicle.

1:Rates
Hire rates include comprehensive insurance. Fuel policy is full to full. The vehicle is supplied with a full tank of fuel and you must return it with a full tank. If you fail to return the vehicle with a full tank of fuel then refills are charged at pump price on the day of refill. A deposit is payable on hire – this is refunded when the vehicle is returned. Fuel costs may be deducted from the deposit if vehicle is not returned with a full tank. VAT is not charged on wheelchair accessible vehicle hire when a VAT exemption form is completed. Please note our initial booking confirmation may show a VAT element but all prices quoted assume the user is exempt from paying VAT.

2:Additional Items
We may choose to offer additional items and accessories with your vehicle hire, these are priced separately.

3: Insurance
All prices include Fully Comprehensive Insurance, but do not include contents, punctures, door mirror damage or damage sustained through driving through Wildlife Parks. Insurance excess:

  • 21 years and over: wheelchair £1500 reduced to £250 by taking our excess waiver
Excess waiver is available at the time of hire for £15 per day Excess waiver does not cover impact damage with stationary objects. Vehicles are not covered by insurance for damage above cab height 3a: Age Requirements WAV hire: minimum hire age 21 Under age 25
  • Must have held full licence for a period of three years
  • 21-22 year olds must be free of conviction
  • 23-24 year olds are permitted one minor conviction (3 points) in last 3 years
Age 25 and above
  • Must have held full licence for a period of 12 months
3b: Accident history
  • 21-22 year olds must be free from any fault accidents
  • 23-24 year olds are permitted one minor fault accident in the last 3 years
  • 25 and over drivers are permitted up to 1 fault accident in 3 years
3c: Motoring convictions We cannot hire to you if:
  • Your licence has an endorsement commencing UT
  • You have two or more periods of disqualification
Please call us if the following applies to you:
  • You have any endorsements commencing AC10/AC20/BA/CD10/CD40/CD50/CD60/CD70/DD/DR/IN10/LC20/MS90
  • Any convictions resulting in a disqualification

4: Occupations
Unfortunately due to insurance limitations the following occupations are unable to hire a vehicle from us:
  • Entertainers & Musicians
  • Professional sports persons
  • Persons connected with Gambling
  • Persons connected with Racing
  • Off-course Bookmakers
  • On-course Bookmakers
  • General dealers, market traders and street traders
  • Scrap Metal Merchants
  • Models

5:Property
We are only responsible for loss or damage to property in the vehicle if the loss or damage is a result of our neglect or if we have broken the conditions of our agreement. You are responsible for removing your personal belongings from the vehicle at the end of the rental period, as we are not responsible for any items you leave in the vehicle. If you do leave items in the vehicle, we may agree to keep them for you to collect within a reasonable time. We may charge you reasonable costs for storing the items.

6:Restrictions

  • All Vehicles are designated as non-smoking, any fines are the liability of the hirer.
  • You may not transport pets in our vehicles without prior written approval. If pets are transported you will be charged an additional deep clean charge as due to potential allergies the vehicle cannot be hired again until fully cleaned.

7:Driving Licence
For each hire a valid driving licence (including the counterpart, if photo licence.) Must be produced by all drivers. Please disclose any endorsements at the time of booking. Most overseas driving licences are accepted from Non British residents, but must be accompanied by a valid passport and proof of temporary residence for the period of hire.

8:Hire Period
The normal booked hire period is on an 08:00am to 08:00 am basis.

9:Hire Deposits
A Deposit plus the Cost of Hire is required upon hiring of vehicle. Payment of hire deposits can only be made by debit or credit card. * Deposit amount may be increased for individuals under the age of 25

10:Discounts
Discount on our vehicle hire may be available through a number of channels, you must meet the criteria specified through each channel to claim the discount. A maximum of one discount type will be allowed on any one hire transaction.

11: Reviews
We encourage our WAV hire customers to leave honest reviews of their experience with WavsGB on WavsGB.com or Google. Please note, when leaving a review, you are responsible for any comments you make on any public platform. Reviews left on this site are the sole opinion of the reviewer and not necessarily WavsGB. While we encourage honest reviews and discussion, we do reserve the right not to publish and to remove or edit any offensive or potentially offensive comments. We also reserve the right to not publish any reviews if we have any reasonable doubt they are not from genuine customers.

12: Hire Images
Hire vehicle images used on the website are for illustration only and do not imply any specification, features or colour. The images are to give an example of the type of vehicle rather than the actual vehicle. Your hire vehicle may differ from the image shown on the website.

13: Charges & Fines
You are wholly resposible for the payment of any charges or fines issued while you are in possession of the vehicle. In the case of Clean Air Zones, it is your responsibility to check your exemption and if required register any exemptions with the relevant council. Private wheelchair hire vehicles are not necessarily exempt as they are not registered as disabled vehicles, you will requre your own exemption.
