In a previous blog post we mentioned we were hoping that we’ll soon be able to offer electric wheelchair accesible to our customers.
We’ve had a lot of response to that post – with many customers hoping they can upgrade their existing WAVs to an e-WAV. For a while there didn’t seem to be any solutions, or the solutions were very limited.
However things are now starting to move forward. There are now more electric WAV models coming online – which should start to become available before Summer 2022.
e-WAVs are coming
Recently we have been in discussion with a manufacturer who is looking to convert a number of electric vehicles into wheelchair accessible vehicles.
We were lucky enough to be invited to the factory where the existing electric vehicles are being converted into electric WAVs. It was fascinating and gave us a good taste of whats to come in the very near future.
It’s exciting to see the electric wheelchair vehicle industry moving forward and we hope to be able to offer these e-WAVs for sale before the end of the year. The vehicles look very promising and while there is only a couple of vehicle models at the moment, including a Mercedes and Vauxhall there is the possibility that a number of other electric vans will be suitable for converting into e-WAVs.
