Not only are you trying to sell a vehicle to a potentially much smaller audience, but there are a lot of checks that need to be done to make sure the car/WAV is in a saleable state.. does the ramp work, is the winch functional etc…

Selling a WAV privately can be a stressful experience. That’s not to say you can’t get a good price for your WAV privately – you can. If you can advertise in the right place and find the right buyer.

An alternative to selling a WAV privately

If you decide not to go the private route, you have a few options when it comes to sell your wheelchair accessible vehicle on.

Sell to a local garage
Asking your local garage for a quote may seem like a logical route – but unfortunately it’s not always the best way. Wheelchair accessible vehicles are very specialist, with very specific modifications and extra equipment which a ‘normal’ garage may not take be able to take into account or be able to accurately value when making you an offer for the car.

Selling to any type of dealer will always result in a lower price offered to you, after all they have to service it, and add a warranty and more before they sell it on themselves – however selling to the wrong to a non-specialist may yield an even lower price than you expect.

Sell to a dedicated WAV dealer
The best method if you’re not selling yourself is to offer your vehicle to a dedicated WAV dealer – like us!

What about older WAVs

If you are selling an older WAV or a WAV with high mileage – your best option is to sell it privately. Unfortunately we are unable to buy any vehicles which are older than 10 years old or have more than 100,000 miles on the clock. As we offer all our vhicles with a 12 month warranty these vehicles would not meet our warranty conditions.
