Can I hire a WAV?
If you can drive a car… then you can drive a WAV!
But if you’ve never hired a WAV (or any vehicle before) before, we’ve put together this simple guide to give you an overview of your eligibility.
Able to hire
Aged 25 - 75
You are aged between 25 and 75 on the day of your hire
Licence
You must have held your driven licence for at least 12 months
Points
No more than 8 points
Possible Hire
Over 75
If you are over 75 and a previous hirer please contact us as we may still be able to get insurance approval.
Aged 21 - 24
As long as you have held your licence for at least 24 months and have no points you may still be able to hire.
For younger drivers there may be a higher deposit
unable to hire
UT Endorsement
You cannot hire if your licence has an endorsement commencing UT
Disqualified
You cannot hire if you have two or more periods of disqualification
Certain Jobs
The following professions cannot hire:
Couriers & Multi-drop drivers (inc Hauliers)
Person engaged in an entertainment profession
Professional sportspersons
Persons connected with gambling
Persons connected with racing
General dealers, market traders and street traders
Scrap Metal Merchants
Full time student under 30
Any member of a foreign military or armed service.
