If your Peugeot Partner Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle tailgate will not open, do not panic – it is usually a very simple fix.
On a Peugeot Partner WAV, the rear tailgate is essential for wheelchair access. If it suddenly stops opening, it is rarely a mechanical fault. In most cases, the issue is simply the wrong button being pressed.
There are two buttons on the tailgate, positioned next to each other:
One opens the full tailgate
The other releases the tailgate window
It is very easy to press the window button by mistake without realising. When this happens, the rear window pops slightly open and the tailgate will not release.
The fix is straightforward. Press the rear window firmly back into place until it clicks and locks shut. Once the window is properly secured, the main tailgate button will work again and the tailgate should open as normal.
A quick check of the window is always worth doing before assuming anything more serious.
