A DVLA sharing code for car hire
Every time you hire a wheelchair adapted vehicle from WavsGB we need to check your driving licence for any additional information and endorsements.
The paper counterpart part of your licence, which originally contained this information, was abolished in 2015. Additional information about your license and endorsements is now kept online and can only be accessed with your permission.
When you hire a wheelchair adapted vehicle from us, we will need you to provide us with the ‘share code’ from the DVLA so that we can check and confirm all your driving licence details.
How to share your licence information
- Visit the following URL:
www.gov.uk/view-driving-licence - Once on the website, press the [START] button
- Enter your licence code, National insurance number and postcode
- Press [OK]
- Go to the third page tab
- Press the [GENERATE A CODE] button.
- Make a note of your unique code and bring it with you when you collect your van so we can do a license check.
Please note we will be unable to hire you a vehicle if we are unable to perform the licence check.
