Wheelchair Docking Station

Vehicles with docking stations have been fitted by a third-party at the request of the previous owner and will only work with adapted wheelchairs. If you are interested in utilising the docking station we can put you in touch with a company to add the necessary adaption to your wheelchair.

Low Emission zones

Your intended useage of the vehicle may also affect the exemption. You are responsible for any charges.

WAV Battery useage

Please note that wheelchair accessible vehicles place a higher drain on the battery than an equivalent car or van. Accessible features like electronic restraint belts, winches all use addtional power. It is especially important to be aware that WAV's fitted with power assisted, doors tailgates, ramps and lifts are powered by the main vehicle battery and place an additional drain on the battery. Battery manufacturers recommend that you drive at least 180 miles per week to maintain a healthy battery charge.

Fuel Tanks

While most newer wheelchair accessible vehicles maintain the original fuel tanks, some models or conversions do replace the original fuel tank with a more compact version in order to lower the floor. In vehicles a replaced fuel tank you will need to refuel more frequently and will also need to monitor your fuel levels more closely. It is recommend to not allow the fuel level to drop below 25% on these vehicles. Please ask us for more information.

Demonstrations

Video demonstrations are free and will be scheduled in at a mutually convenient time. You must have either Zoom, or WhatsApp to take part in the video call. We allow up to an hour for the live demonstration.Pre-recorded videos can take up to 48 (working) hours to be produced and uploaded - a link will be provided to view upon completion.

We charge a fee for our in-home vehicle demonstrations – starting at £250. This cost covers MOT, a service, fuel and the driver. This fee is non-refundable but it can be used towards the cost of the vehicle if you decide to buy. We will confirm the fee with you when you arrange your demonstration.

RAC Warranty & Roadside Assistance

^*12 months Roadside Assistance is provided as a complimentary service. The service must be activated with a credit/debit card in order to validate that you are over 18 with the RAC. With your complimentary Roadside Assistance, the RAC will fix your vehicle at the roadside, as long as you're over a ¼ mile from home. And if they can't, they'll give you a 10-mile tow to a garage or another destination. The service can be upgraded to include recovery, at home services and onward travel directly for an additional cost with the RAC when you register your complementary service. The service will renew after 12 months - if you do not wish to continue you must cancel the service. Find out more RAC Warranty is only supplied where there is no remaining manufacturers warranty.

For Taxis and private hire vehicles a 3 month/3000 mile warranty is provided.

Low mileage

Any vehicle which has driven less than 7000 miles per year would be considered to have low annual mileage. This Volkswagen Caddy 2.0 TDI Life WAV has driven an average of 1489 miles per year since registration.
